When: Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm

Chiraphone will share some of the amazing ways that World Relief Cambodia is committed to working alongside the local Church to serve the most vulnerable in the name of Jesus Christ. Now in its 14th year, WR Cambodia ministries include cell church planting, microfinance, anti-human trafficking prevention; child development; community health and HIV/AIDS compassionate care.
Born in Laos to a Buddhist family of twelve, Chiraphone and her family escaped to a Thailand refugee camp in 1980. In 1982, World Relief and the Wells Family sponsored her family, resettling in Idaho, USA. She gave her life to Jesus Christ at the age of 15.
Since being a refugee and resettled immigrant in the US, Chiraphone is honored to be a part of the World Relief story where “much is given, much is required.”
This is not a fundraising event.
Periodically, we post links to Google Hangouts that we think our readers would enjoy participating in. Problem is that a lot of us have no clue what a google hangout is or how to join one.
Google+ is a social networking and identity service that is owned and operated by Google Inc.(Think Facebook – it is the second-largest social networking site in the world after Facebook) One of it’s main strengths is it’s “Hangout” feature. Google Hangouts combine both group chat and video calls. Hangouts on Air are “live” discussions or performances that you can listen in on. (Like the What does 2014 hold for the fight against modern-day slavery? talk from Half the Sky Movement.)
Now that you know what a hangout is, how do you join?
In order to have a Google+ account, you must have a Google account. To do that, go to plus.google.com and find “Create An Account” located at the top right of the screen. Follow the screen prompts to create your account. If you already have a google account, you can sign on to google+ with your google user name and password.
Now that you have a Google+ account, you need to download the Hangouts App for the device that you will be using. You can use Hangouts on your phone, computer, iPad, etc.
Download the app for your android. (or got to the app store on your device and search Google Hangouts).
Download the app for your iPad or iPhone. (or go to the app store on your device and search Google Hangouts).
Download the app for your computer. Click on download app for your computer and follow the instructions.
Now you’re ready! Got to the page of the person/group having the hangout at the time of the hangout and click on the arrow to begin watching.
Can’t make the hangout? No worries. After the hangout, a video of the hangout is saved on the page of the person hosting the hangout.
